The MM mentions stopping the Naga’s rejuvination with Wish, but I believe a 9th-level spell is overkill here. Perhaps the ritual requires 2 5th-level spell slots, similar to the Manual of Golems in the DMG. Players Can Set Default Token Players can access their Art Library in the VTT to set a character’s portrait and token. Bone nagas also sting with their powerful barbed tails, inflicting piercing damage plus cold damage.
Bone nagas also possessed the venomous fangs and stingers of living nagas. Bone nagas were loyal to their creators but loathed their servitude. By joining my Patreon you instantly get access to over a variety of 1500+ tokens. Printable Character Sheets You can now print or save sheets.
This art will be available in the Art Library of all your games. Can include tokens, figures, maps, token borders, or portraits. Bone-naga powder can also be used as a substitute for powdered iron or unholy water or smoldering dung when making the circle for aprotection from goodspell (without altering the spell’s casting or effects in any way). Bone nagas are usually created by the Nagara to be guardians, especially of young nagas and nonmagical treasure. Attempts to do so psionically will result in temporary confusion on the part of the bone naga, coupled with great anger at the source of the mental assault. As for the ritual itself, I imagine it would require a reasonably powerful spellcaster.
Created by dark nagas and a few evil mages to serve as guardians, these spellcasting worms serve their master with absolute loyalty. Was a spirit naga who was killed by yuan-ti, and was then raised by them as a bone naga in the Slitherswamp level of Undermountain. My only advice would be bone naga token to use the rules that a necromancy wizard would follow to get a sense of balance. Overall I think it should be fairly expensive to try, have a decent risk of not working, and the bone naga definitely should not follow the character’s commands 100% the way their standard creations would.
These spells are cast by silent force of will and do not require verbal, material, or somatic components. A bone naga’s spells are set when it is created and cannot be changed, but whenever one is cast, it returns without study exactly 24 hours later. Powdered bones from https://cryptolisting.org/ bone nagas could be used in place of powdered iron or unholy water or smoldering dung when making a circle for protection from good. With spellcasting ability and the ritual steps considered, perhaps also require some expensive components or a specific magic item.
A bone Naga is a naga that was killed and then during it’s Ressurection it is interrupted by a necromantic ritual created by the Yuan-ti. Bone nagas were a form of undead created from nagas, normally from and by dark nagas, as guardians. Bone nagas eat nothing and fill no niche in any life cycle, save that they sometimes kill large, aggressive natural predators for sport or to practice with their spells. One of my players is a Yuan-Ti pureblood divination wizard and has learned about an upcoming Spirit Naga Boss. She is asking me about how that is done and if she can do it.
Again, this can come from another quest, perhaps a journey to the lower planes in order to obtain some concentrated evil. Such rare bone nagas may be found in ruins, subterranean areas, and deep woods, often surrounded by lesser undead they have gathered around them. In addition to their physical attacks, bone nagas can cast one spell per round. They would always focus their melee attacks on living creatures, which were susceptible to their venom, instead of on undead or constructs.
Bone nagas were undead, with the normal abilities thereof . They retained their intelligence, however, and had the spellcasting talent known in other nagas, being able to cast spells as a sorcerer of moderate skill and power, thought without needing most components. Bone nagas attack creatures with psionic powers whenever they recognize such ability, and they cannot be compelled by anyone except their creator to cast spells.
Perhaps this will involve exploring the ruin of an ancient Yuan-Ti temple, or perhaps it will involve stealing it or negotiating with living Yuan-Ti in the bowels of the city to obtain the ritual process. It might be inscribed on an old parchment made of snakeskin or pressed into stone tablets, there are a lot of possibilities. Bone nagas were essentially skeletal nagas, normally around 12 ft (3.7 m) in length, with a “cold, cruel light” in place of eyes. Bone nagas can’t normally employ magical items, but one may be fitted with protective magical items that are worn. Limiting the power of a character and making the overall difficulty of the game harder, does not reduce the creativity, indeed it does quite the opposite. Personally I think it would be really cool and completely metal but I don’t know what the “necromantic ritual” is. Bone nagas were, notably, naturally able to detect thoughts, although they themselves were immune to all forms of mindreading and mildly resistant to some psionic attacks . They could not speak, instead relying on telepathy to communicate with other creatures, although some few reports rather confusedly claimed they spoke Common.
I’d make it a side quest where she needs to research the necromantic ritual involved and then have it be something along the lines of researching a new spell. If she’s doing it without any type of guidance have it be exactly like researching a new spell. Another way would be to find someone that knows the ritual and have them teach her, but knowledge always comes at a cost – decide what cost the person with the knowledge would extract from her. This is especially true for a Yuan-Ti Pureblood which is the lowest in the Yuan-Ti societal hierarchy.
